Beaunca was only 2 years old when she died
on September 4, 1997. She was beat to
death by her mother because she spilled
her juice on the floor.An autopsy concluded
that she had died from blunt trama to
her head and abdomen.

Latonda Shannon, 20 years old was charged
with 1st degree murder and aggravated assault.

UPDATE 4-18-01 Latonda Shannon was convicted  of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse for the beating death of her 2-year-old daughter.

Jurors deliberated for four hours before convicting Latonda Shannon of murdering Beaunca
Prosecutors said that Beaunca was beaten or kicked with such force that internal organs were ruptured or torn.
